Since entering the market in 2008, the Nissan GT-R of the R35 series
has been scaring the living daylight out of its traditional
competitors in the category of Sports and Super Sports Cars with its
extreme performance and lap times. Even in its “ancient version“,
the 3.8 liter V6 of the High-Tech four-wheel drive that was on
artificial respiration courtesy of its two turbo chargers was able
to transmit a whopping 485 Horse Power in the direction of its drive
chain. And ever since, Nissan has been beefing up this capacity
almost at a yearly interval: 485 HP was initially followed by 530
and finally 550 Horse Power. It is at this rate that the 2012 model
is able to sprint to 100 km/h in an incredible time of 2.8 seconds
and reach a top speed of 315 kilometers per hour. The current GT-R
is expected to circle the extremely demanding northern loop of the
Nurburgring racing circuit in less than 7:20 minutes – as a serially
produced car!
At 550 Horse Power however, the performance potential of the Biturbo
drive engine has by far, not been exhausted as shown in the joint
project vehicle of the company mcchip-dkr – specialist in electronic
power boosting – from Mechernich/Obergartzem and the wrapping
specialists of CoverEFX from Erftstadt. This develops a whopping 596
Horse Power and a maximum torque of 751 Newton meters – on the basis
of the “small” 485 Horse Power GT-R – and based on a power-optimized
software adaptation as well as the installation of a sports exhaust
system. Another potential boosting level to the high-performance
capacity that should then easily beat the magic mark of 600 Horse
Power is currently undergoing development. The engine power can be
reduced with a push of the button on the steering wheel for routine
operation as well as for reduction to the level of serially produced
standard vehicles, which should be more than sufficient for the
routine drive to the supermarket.
To also facilitate a visual display of the added performance value,
the wrapping specialists of CoverEFX from Erfstadt in their capacity
as experts in such assignments, tailored a spectacular racing-style
film-coating to match the dynamic body of the GT-R. A high-grade
foil of the CFC 400 series of the colors Cardinal Red, Raven Black
and Pina Colada White was applied using the novel knifeless
technology. The screens of the Nippon Racer were shaded with the CFC
Classic Style (Tail) and CFC Anthracite Style foil (Front). The
CoverEFX letters applied on foil by means of multicolored digital
print shines forth on the flanks of the vehicle.
Moreover, lowering springs from the company H&R reduce the ground
clearance of the Nissan Sports Car by about 30 millimeters which
endows the Nippon racer with a visibly lower looks and a noticeably
optimized cornering dynamics.
Apropos of curves ... as many of you have probably noticed, our sexy
GT-R model is of course Silvia Hauten – former “Miss Tuning”, who
was also crowned Playmate of the month in the German Playboy.
